Critique for independent project semester 1

The Circle of Life

The concept for my proposal projects represent the actual facts of the circle of life , one illustration illustrates a deer cut in portions to emphasizing the idea of PORTIONS , and the other illustrates an egg that is supposed to represent the never ending cycle of LIFE itself .

I chose to create my works in Adobe Photoshop because , I sought to create an image that resembled the styles commonly used in info-graphics. I love drawing , and have never gotten the chance to put my talent to the test, digitally. I've always been excited to work digitally .

Working with my visual identity logos prepared me for the process of creating my visual identity project . I did have some issues along the way , but persevering and using my resources or alternate routes did aid me ultimately.

I mostly used the basic tools available to me such as : Paint brush, line tool, transforming and line textures. The style that I most commonly saw during the information graphic unit of the tech course inspired my proposal works, in terms of their simplistic essence. I was quite satisfied with the end results of my proposal works , I wasn't sure if I would be able to  achieve the style I was aiming to execute, but I did, and I'm proud of that.

Artist Introduction Letter

My name is Jamari Nwagwu  my art interests are quite broad, the type of art that I’ll appreciate the most usually depends on my mood. As an artist I find it necessary to be intimate with my works and art itself as a form of expression. When it comes to interests that I can pursue, I think I may find myself most happy working with film: (directing, watching, shooting, imagining) and crafts: (collages, collaborative projects, installations).

The most enjoyable unit I experienced in the Visual Arts department of CyberArts would be the gesture-drawing unit. I started off with drawings that I hated, and ended the unit with drawings that I actually put up on my wall at home, because I was so proud of my progress.  As for Tech, the most interesting unit was creating visual identities. It was something I’ve always wanted to do, but never took too seriously. My “San Art” logo feels so right, I probably won’t use it in the future, but I may actually consider it!

I came into CyberArts full of curiosity, and still maintain that curiosity each and every day I’m here. I’ve learned many new techniques in Visual Arts, but the degree at which I learned the most new skills is most prevalent in Tech (Specifically Adobe Illustrator). Whenever a problem arose, I would enable a curious mind to find solutions to those obstacles. In most cases, I would discover new as well as simpler ways of getting things done in Adobe Illustrator. Without the help of my fellow students and teachers, I’m certain I’d still be struggling with many things.

The skills I long to improve as an artist in general are vast, but as a Cyber Arts student, I would like to learn how to better polish my works so that they actually feel and look like finished works.

I have hopes of having an upper hand with my knowledge in Adobe Illustrator when the time comes for me to apply to my animation course at Sheridan College.
Not to have all the “know-how” to myself, but to have the skills and experience with the program, so that I may help other students just as I was helped here in Cyber Arts.

This portfolio is a collection of my dearest pieces of art. They vary in amounts of effort invested in each piece. I’ve had many happy accidents, and have also taken many days out of my boring schedule to nurture some of the works presented. This collection is incomplete, however. I tend to give my best works away to my loved ones as gifts.

Tips and Tricks

I was just poking around the interwebs because I was wondering if there was a way to make any video game 3D , even if the feature hadn't been initially available for the console or video game.

I still haven't found the answer I was looking for , but I stumbled upon this and thought it was pretty sweet!

Personal Inspiration

Andrew Bird is a violinist, as well as an awesome whistler  I'm not sure if his last name truly is Bird, but that explains the whistling in his musical pieces.

His music always calms me down , gets me stoked, or inspires me to do something artistic, creative or adventurous.

I loved his sounds the very first time I heard them, It was a song called Anonanimal which a friend of mine played a few summers back.

His songs tug my heart chords and make me feel ethereal, ironically insignificantly important. He showed me my souls reflection through his music.

To be completely honest , I didn't think thoroughly about deciding to get the cloud above tattooed on my forearm one day; but I'm certain I will get it done someday, but not entirely as a tribute.
